I’m Paula, I’m a Transformational Career Coach, and I see you.
I have been there: burned out before I even got out of bed in the morning, having panic attacks and jumping at loud noises, and having nothing left for my family at the end of every day. I’ve been there, it sucked, and you don’t have to stay stuck.
Even a dream job can turn sour after a while. All it takes is one personnel change, one schedule change, one tweak to throw off the balance of things, and you find yourself wondering, “When did it get this bad? Is this what I’ve worked so hard for? Is this all there is until I retire?” You want to find (or create!) a job you love again.
You want to make work work for you, but it’s so hard to know where to turn.
Hey there, I’m Paula Randler. I help purpose-driven professionals who are torn between staying or leaving their role make confident career decisions so they can stop second-guessing and finally look forward to Mondays again.
My purpose here on earth is to help you find joy and ease in your important work. I’ve helped dozens of mid-career professionals to find or create a job doing what they love, and I’m eager to work with you too. I’m a career federal employee who left after a rewarding (and exhausting) 17 years. In the six years before my departure, I became a career coach and coached dozens of my fellow feds to make their work circumstances better. I love working with dedicated, purpose-driven professionals who are ready to transform their lives by reconnecting with their purpose, communicating their needs, and reorienting their career in a way they are proud of AND that feeds their soul.
You deserve to fix this.

Paula Randler
BS Geology, University of South Carolina
Masters in Environmental Management, Yale University
Paula Randler is a geologist and urban forester by training, and a born coach. She is deeply grateful for a whole mess of teachers, mentors, coaches, and supervisors in her career who saw her and supported her through exploring her passions, making mistakes, executing new projects, and influencing quality of life for her colleagues.
Now, through coaching, Paula is able to support her clients when they need it most: at a critical turning point in their career that requires care, deep listening, strategic insight, and gentle candor. She took a romantic leap of faith in 2020, and a professional leap in 2025, betting on herself. She’ll bet on you every single time, too.
Lean on Paula when it’s time to consider a change, make a big move, mindfully step back for a bit, or face a new challenge. Paula is obsessed with helping purpose-driven professionals find joy and ease in their work.
More than anything, she wants to help you make the impact you were born to have on the world.
In general, I think everyone should take themselves less seriously.
I’m from the beach but I live in the desert now.
I have a wonderful partner and two kind, smart, and generous stepsons.
I love to observe, study, talk about, and create space for nature. When we travel I seek out the 5 am birding tour, the all-day whale-watching tour, and the midnight turtle nesting walk. I get distracted by lizards and hummingbirds in my yard. Seeing a roadrunner or a javelina time-travels me right back to being a nature loving 8-year old.
My useless skill is recognizing actors from that one scene they were in one time - but I never know their name.
I’m a voracious reader (100+ books a year). I love great nonfiction, sci fi, a little fantasy, and high-brow murder and romance. I’ll quit reading around page 50 if I’m not into it. (And I give everyone who’s looking for it permission to quit, too! There are so many books you will love; don’t read a single one you don’t.)
I love trivia.
I believe in unions, public transportation, health care is a human right, science (done by scientists), generosity, and equity. I believe our differences make us stronger, more interesting, and more compassionate. I do not tolerate intolerance and it is not ironic, it is important.
I volunteer with a books-to-prisoners program called Read Between the Bars.
Blooper reels make me laugh as long as no one gets hurt.
